About us
A Northwood firm working a district of larger houses, where most of the job happens before the van arrives.
What we are
A removals firm working Northwood and the borders around it. Houses and detached property, period homes, flats and apartments, man and van, packing and crating, containerised storage, and a European arm covering four destinations.
Our own crews and our own vehicles. Where a job genuinely wants a specialist — a grand piano, a particularly awkward staircase — we bring one in and tell you we have, rather than presenting their work as ours.
About the other Northwood firm
There is more than one Northwood domain on this network. northwood-removals.co.uk works the same district with its own crews and a quite different approach, and we would rather put that on the About page than let you discover it from a coincidence.
If you have already had a survey from them, take their quote. A second opinion from a sister firm is not a second opinion.
How we price
Measured volume, access at both ends, how much packing and crating you want, and distance. Not urgency, not the season, and not what somebody else quoted.
The survey is free and carries no obligation. For a larger house, a period building or a long private approach we would rather come and look than work from photographs. The quote comes back in writing and holds unless what is coming changes.
What we ask that others do not
Whether the approach is private, gated or long enough to change the carry.
What is in the garden room, the workshop and the garage, because in this district that is frequently a vehicle's worth on its own.
Which pieces want a case rather than a blanket, and which are worth declaring.
And what is happening at the far end — whether the new house is finished, and whether anything should go into store rather than into a building site.
The European side
Four destinations rather than a brochure list. France, Spain, Italy and Portugal — enough volume on each that the customs process is familiar rather than researched while the vehicle is loaded.
On a household of this size the inventory is most of the work, and the declaration is only as good as it is. We build it at survey and say at the start which documents have to come from you, because those are the ones nobody can accelerate.
Insurance and conditions
Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything of real value at survey and we confirm in writing what applies before you book.
The full terms are on the terms page rather than in a footnote on the quote.
What we do not do
We do not quote before we understand the job. We do not promise a transit time we cannot stand behind. We do not take on a property without establishing that we can physically reach it. And we do not claim awards, accreditations, press coverage or customer numbers we have not got — if it is not on this site, it is because it is not true yet.
Cover
Goods in transit and storage cover are in place, with the usual conditions around owner-packed cartons and items of unusual value. Declare anything genuinely valuable at survey and we will confirm in writing what applies. The contractual position is on the terms page.
Getting hold of us
The quote form is quickest. Contact has the rest, questions covers what comes up first, and areas we cover shows exactly where our ground runs out.
Tell us about the move
Both addresses, what is coming, and your dates. We survey, check the access at both ends and set the quote out in writing.
